So much content, so little time. How can we stay on top of it all? Prepare yourself for Editorial Planning 2.0. We're bringing together some of the most seasoned editors our great city has to offer to ask these editorial desk rock stars how to prepare an editorial calendar for clients and blogs, as well as how to understand the timelines and seasonal needs of both local and national magazine and news outlets (both online and off).
Our panel includes Kristen Hicks, a freelance copywriter who specializes in blogging and other forms of content marketing. She's been freelancing for over four years and had to figure out a lot on her own before she had the bright idea to join Freelance Austin and start learning from other freelancers' experiences.
Also joining the panel is Michelle Nicholaisen, who has been freelancing for over five
years and writing for the web since the ripe old age of 12. She's been featured in or written for FastCompany, Entrepreneur, Design*Sponge, and KISSmetrics, among others. When she's not helping clients with their content marketing, she's publishing posts on staying sane and productive as a freelancer at Bombchelle.com.
Moderating the panel discussion is Julie Tereshchuk. According to Julie, be careful what you say as an Austin-based writer and editor. “Any questions?” may easily be her favorite phrase in the English language. Julie has taken her natural spunky curiosity and combined it with her attention to detail, honed listening skills and creative flair to create a reputation for on-point business and lifestyle writing, plus top quality editorial services. She is known for her magazine feature writing and has covered celebrities to computer chips. Julie loves the variety of her work and continues to be fascinated, intrigued and informed by the answers to those questions of hers. Julie began freelancing in 2002 – her third career after working as a project manager in the manufacturing industry then in software sales. She is currently editor-in-chief for Texas Lifestyle Magazine, www.texaslifestylemag.comWHERE:
